Smile

SMILE

Just the way a rain drop brings hope to a dying flower,

Your smile might bring hope to someone who is lost.

Give the world your best smile....

Today, tomorrow and everyday.

Kukke Subramanya

Here am writing about my 4 days piligrimage visit to a place called Kukke Subramanya. Hope u people won't be bored.. . Becoz, guess i'll be writing more abt this place as we stayed here for 4 days and its the first place that I have visited for this year along with my family.. :-)

Kukke Sri Subramanya Temple is situated in a small village in the thick forest bordering the Western ghats. This place is nearly 105 kms from Mangalore. Here God Subramanya is worshiped as a Snake and the epics here narrate how the divine Serpent Vasuki and other Snakes took refuge under Lord Subramanya in the Cave.

Team outing in Club Cabana

Uff.. After visiting Coorg, in the same week visited Club Cubana as part of our Team Outing from office... This is a Club situated near Sadahalli Village (Devanahalli Taluk Bangalore North). Its a good place to visit for a 1 day trip.. But ufortunately when we visited that place most of our office other team ppl had also visited... So there was not of much of difference between office environment and there.. :-)... So here begins the story...

We had our morning breakfast over there and started our day with full of energy to play different games present int the club.. :-) The Club has facilties for many games like Water games, Indoor and Outdoor games, Bowling center, Swimming pool and many others.. So first we played Bowling. This picture is taken over there... This was the time I played Bowling.. :-) But really I must say, its a koool game and very easy to play.. I liked playing it very much.. But the only problem is ur hands must be very strong to lift those heavy balls.. :-) ... Anways, We spent around 1 hr there..
Then the next game wat I played was... any guesses.. for those who have read my previous posts... yes... Its Shuttle... (guessed it rite :-) ).. So I played Shuttle cock with my colleagues there..... But there for the first time I just played for 20-30 mins.. :-( thats it... Becoz other ppl also wanted to play... So wat to do.. I left that and went to play some Indoor games.. There I played TT and a bit of Carrom.. But just played for a while and went for lunch... Lunch was arranged by the Club memebers as part of our pacakge there... Hmmm.. and the food was also good....

So after a heavy lunch... few of our colleagues went to Swim in the pool.... hmmm.. but I did not goooo... instead played Shuttle again with remaining colleagues... We played, played, and played a looooot.. for a loooong time... I liked it very much.. But my hands also liked it very much.. :-)) Though they wer a bit swollen I never realized the pain and cotinued playing... Then wat it was already evening.. :-( and we had to return back... But couldn't cover playing all the games.. :-( So it was just an END of another team outing..........

Later for the next 2-3 days... guess wat.. all our hands and legs wer paining veryyyy badly.. :-)) But felt like If u need to Enjoy a Play, U also need to Enjoy the Pain.. :-)

Coorg (Medikeri)

Hmmm.. What to write about such a wonderful and beautiful place… I and my other 3 friends visited Coorg and near by places this month. It was really a great and an adventurous experience… We enjoyed a lot. We had planned a 3-day trip for this. On the first day the places that we visited were Rangantittu (Bird Sanctuary) near Mysore, Golden Temple and Harangi Dam near KhushalNagar (on the way to Medikeri) and Nisarga Dhama.. (Its basically a small place which looks like a forest and inside that there is a river which flows.. and its a good place to play in water.. We went for a small Elephant ride there.. :-) and later reached Medikeri by evening..

On the next day, that is on the 2nd day we visited Bhagamandala, Talacauvery and Abbey falls. Down the hill a few hundred yards away from the confluence of the three rivers is the Bhagandeswara
temple. This temple is of Kerala style. All pilgrims that visit Talacauvery, first worship at the Bagandeshwara temple, prior to making the trek to the Cauvery temple. Half a mile away from Talacauvery. But there was lot of construction work going on in the temple.. :-(

Then we visted Talacauvery where river Cauvery is believed to emerge. The summit of Brahma Giri (mountain) is the highest point in Talacauvery. A magnificent view of the surroundings is visible from the crest of Brahma Giri. The temple is approximately 300 feet below the summit of Brahma Giri. Brahma Giri is also considered sacred and all able-bodied pilgrims trudge up to the top. There were stone steps built from the temple to the crest, to ease the trek up the mountain. Because of the high altitude, fog was prevalent in Talacauvery. We climbed this highest view andd felt like we were at top of the world.. The Mountain views were really good with full of mist and fog with lot of breeze. And really after seeing that view even though we had walked and climbed a lot of steps.. our legs wern't paining.. :-)

Later by evening we visited Abbey Falls. It's really a beautiful place to visit. But people are not allowed to play in the falls.. :-( People just visit this place to enjoy the flow of water.. The way to this falls is through a coffee estate. Its a walk of nearly 1-2 kms within the estate. After visiting this place we went to a place called Raja Seat which is just 1/2 km away from the Medikeri city centre. This is a park which has a beautiful View point present in Medikeri. We were there to see the Sun set by evening. Also in the park there were few programmes where going on.

After visiting these places, we decided to go to Nagarhole forest. We wanted to go for a safari ride over there. But the safari timings there is from morning 6 am to 9 am. So we thought to leave Medikeri early morning for that may be at 3 am, as the forest is around 97 km from Medikeri. Hmmm... but later we decided to leave Medikeri the same day evening around 6 pm and reach to an estate nearby the forest and stay there for 1 night which is just 10 kms away from the forest.

Hmmm.. we reached that estate at nearly 9.30 pm at night.. What to write abt the journey to the forest area at night.. It was too scary and adventurous.. :-) But it was really a good place to stay.. Apart from us there were few other ppl who had stayed in that estate..

Next we woke up early morning, got ready and left to the Forest for safari...We enjoyed the morning ride to a forest with full of green nature all around.. Hmm. in B'lore we never get to see such a nature and weather... :-(
On the way we saw lot of Deers.. near by our vehicle itself... and took lot of pictures... So by 8 am we were there ready for a safari ride... But unfortunatly we couldn't see many animals there's.. .We just missed to watch a Tiger in the forest.. :-( But anyways we saw few other animals and the rid and safari was good...

So from there we directly started our journey way back to B'lore... on the way visited Mysore and a place called Nanjungud.. And were back home by 6 pm... As we had to go back to office the next day.. :-( Hmmm.. we did not feel like coming back but wat to do we had to be there.. :-((

DON

Farhan Akhtar's 'Don' is a Shah Rukh Khan film all the way. The superstar literally breathes fire into his character of a ruthless and clever Don. He also shows his versatility as an actor while playing the part of Vijay, the bumpkin.

Twenty-eight years after Chandra Barot's hit movie with Amitabh Bachchan in the role of Don, Farhan Akhtar comes up with a sleek and stylish tribute to the original. This 'Don' is certainly bigger and bombastic. Whether it is better, is debatable.

Barot's 'Don' was quite modern for its times. So is Akhtar's. The story of new 'Don' is set in the cityscape of Kuala Lumpur, Paris and India (few portions). The don in the film operates on an international level. He uses state-of-the-art technology, fights like a martial arts expert and has a zany taste in fashion. He is like an Indian James Bond, but obviously on the wrong side of law.
Farhan's 'Don' is not a replica of the old. The director has changed the movie's plot a great deal in the second half. It may leave the purists with raised hackles, but the way Shah Rukh has played the character and the unexpected twist at the movie's end, more than compensates for Farhan's experimentation.

In short, this 'Don' is definitely worth a watch. For Shah Rukh's sake.
The movie opens in Paris. Shah Rukh Khan as Don, all dressed in black, is striking a cocaine deal with DJ (Chunkey Pandey). It is a set up to kill Don. In a matter of seconds, guns are drawn, shots fired and blood is spilled. Don walks out unscathed. His enemies perish.
Cut to Kuala Lumpur, Don's new base. Inspector De Silva (Boman Irani) briefs his colleagues about a crime syndicate that runs drug and weapons trafficking business throughout the world. The two big fishes in the trade are Singhania and Vardhan. Don works for Singhania. Vardhan, on the other hand, is a man whom nobody has seen.

Then follows a cat and mouse game between cops and Don. Eventually, Don is cornered and seriously injured. Inspector De Silva takes Don to a secret location and keeps him unconscious. The cop then ropes in Vijay, a Don lookalike to play the part of Don.
While being shifted to Kuala Lumpur, Vijay is abducted by his criminal colleagues who think he is Don. As long as he doesn't get to know Don's friends and foes, Vijay feigns loss of memory. Then he manages to pass himself off as the real Don and get his hands on a computer disc that contains information about all the people in the crime syndicate.
But there are many surprises in store for Vijay, for Interpol officer Malik (Om Puri) and for Roma (Priyanka Chopra), who is on her own personal mission to kill Don. And there is a big surprise for audience in the end.

In many parts of the movie's first two hours, Farhan sticks loyally to the original flick. We hear the same dialogues, once immortalized in Bachchan's baritone, now mouthed by Shah Rukh. There is also a slight hint of imitation in SRK's performance. May be because it is difficult to improvise the part already played to perfection by Bachchan many years ago.
His swaggering gait, his arrogant poise, his piercing glance through lofty brows, they all work in favour of making his character credible. And in between all this he also veritably brings a rustic touch in Vijay.
Boman Irani gets maximum footage after SRK. Although he plays his part well, it is becoming difficult to take him seriously after having seen him in so many comic roles.
Priyanka Chopra has not much to do in the film. Even her stunts fail to impress. Arjun Rampal, handsome as ever, is convincing as the limping Jasjit. Kareena Kapoor has a two-minute role and a song appearance. Isha Koppikar is forgettable particularly because her character hasn't been given any depth. Om Puri deserved a longer role.

In a nutshell, Farhan Akhtar does succeed in giving a just tribute to the timeless 'Don' starring Amitabh Bachchan. Watch it for Shah Rukh.
